This Converter will enable a slimline (common found in notebook or rack-mount server) optical drive such as CD-ROM drive, DVD drive, CD-RW, or DVR-RW drive to be used in a standard desktop PC

Side 1 of the adapter PCB has a special JAE 50-pin connector which can connect to a slimline notebook CD-ROM Drive/DVD Drive/CD-RW/DVDRW drive.
Side 2 of the adapter PCB has a standard 40-pin IDE connector which you can connect to a standard IDE cable in your desktop PC.  It also has a 4-pin power connector which connect to power supply's floppy drive power connector, and a CD Aduio connector which can direct the audio sound from CD-ROW/DVD/CD-RW/DVD-RW to your sound card.

Note: This converter will enable you to connect slimline CD drive to a standard desktop PC IDE controller.  It does not come with any metal hardware frame to mount slimline CD drive to a desktop computer case.
